Johnson Technology Academy was founded on the idea that young people everywhere deserve access to AI and digital literacy education.

To build AI and digital literacy in young people across the Caribbean and the United States — through free, hands-on programs that develop real capability, not just awareness.
VISION
Where JTA is going
In the United States, JTA is building the corporate and foundational relationships that make expansion possible. We are developing partnerships to fund programs across the USA. In the Caribbean, JTA will be launching in Barbados and Guyana in 2027, building a network of trained facilitators and institutional partners that can sustain programs without depending on any single funder.
THE MODEL
How JTA teaches
JTA programs are built around actively doing, rather than passively learning. Each session gives students a problem to work through, a tool to use, and time to build. Instructors facilitate rather than lecture.
- Small cohorts of 10 to 20 students, with a trained facilitator
- Sessions structured around building and testing, not passive instruction
- Every cohort ends with a student demonstration to families and partners
- No hardware or kit dependency — the model works with what's available
- Curriculum developed with university partners and reviewed annually
INSTITUTIONAL PARTNERS
University Relationships
JTA partners with accredited universities to host programs, in order to expose youth to a university environment from a young age, and also signals credibility in the local market.
